Customer Reviews:
One of the alluring female voices of the Century XX!
August 19, 2008
Astrud Gilberto was the Brazilian Dionysian lark per excellence and the embodiment of the sensuality, lyricism and tropical alluring of the best known Latin American music all over the world. Despite the terrible circumstances that made she left us before the used, she found in Antonio Carlos Jobim the perfect key for her to exhibit her sensitiveness, charisma and unforgettable charm.
This album picks up a very significant part of her musical legacy.
lovely!

Love that ethereal voice
January 1, 2008
I got this for a bossa nova music lover and after hearing it, I would have to say it has been one of my best CD buys. Each track is soulful, complete with Astrud's distinct airy voice and smooth instrumentals. I can't get enough of her voice after hearing her sing Girl of Ipanema on a compilation album, so I bought this CD. Many of the songs she sang may not have been that familiar to American radio, but they are well worth your ears. Broaden your music repertoire, get Astrud!

What a great way to combat winter!

Although I was a bit "put off" by some of the pop tunes, her summery voice & the warm arrangements held the snow at bay!
