Probably good for some, but not for me January 7, 2009
I share a network with my neighbor, so getting a decent signal has always been a challenge. I am a bit of a gamer/VOIP user, so getting a consistent signal and little lag is important.
My old configuration was a Linksys G router (don't recall the model) and a windows laptop running XP with a "Buffalo Technology WLICBG54S 125 High Speed Mode Wireless Notebook Adapter With AOSS" connected to the "Buffalo Technology WLE-DA2 AirStation 9 dBi High-Gain Indoor Directional Antenna"
This worked really well. I really like Buffalo products because it is possible to hook up an external antenna easily. Unfortunately they are not selling to the US market right now.

We recently purchased a new Linksys WRT160N Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router when our G router bit the dust. Also with the purchase of a new (Vista) laptop, my old Buffalo Wireless card wouldn't work with the fabulous express card slot, so the search was on for a new solution. Unfortunately, I saw no improvement in signal strength using this product. I don't know why. My neighbor now has it and it helps her get a signal where she previously got none, though, so it may work depending on your location.

Unit looks Cool but doesn't work very often. Like the other Linksys products, they suffer from crappy software. I can't use this and use $10.00 Encore USB adapters that work all the time and even work with vista x64 Operating System. I can't get Linksys to even work 32 bit. They should have instruction manuals or good web information to help computer nuts that want to network. Maybe professionals know how to use Linksys. It is the wordt cool looking product I have gotten in computers.

Great Range, Great Speed, Great Product! December 19, 2008
Warning if you have Windows Vista 64bit you will need to download the drivers off the internet first. They are listed as Vista 32bit drivers but they work for 64bit also! I was not able to get the drivers on the cd to work for my Windows Vista 64bit.. Once I did get it working it works great! I turn off and on my computer all the time that I built myself and have no problems with startup wich I have read in other reviews. I am able to get very good rage with it and the speed is top notch Definatly recommend this product to anyone who wants to go wireless!

WOW! It really works: GREAT SPEED + GREAT RANGE December 13, 2008
After reading the reviews of this product I was in a 50/50 position about how good or bad this product was. I have a Linksys WRT310 router installed in my home and because I sold my iMac because of the wide known problems all mac computers are having with internet connections, I had to get a network adapter for my new PC. The NATURAL CHOICE was this Linksys network adapter. After some research and reading I found out that this USB version was more faster than the PCI counterpart and as I doubt of the small usb network adapters I chose this one because of the more "professional" look with its two external antennas. The installation was very easy. I inserted the CD, plug the adapter in one my USB ports and then it was ready. I got connected to my network and started browsing. I noticed it was very fast and so inmediately went to www.speedtest.net and wow!: the MS PING I got was 10! Let me tell you that in my office via ethernet my MS PING is about 20 and to get a MS PING of 10 via wireless is considered such a achievement. Im on a second floor and the router is on the first floor. The SPEED is unbelievable and as I said it before even faster and with better MS PING than my office connection even tough my office is a cable (not wireless) connection. I don't know if this is working so good for the perfect combo: WRT310N ROUTER + WUSB300N (a match made in heaven) or if it will also work as good with other N routers. If you have a WRT160N, WRT301N, WRT610N router this is A MUST BUY and if you don't you should at least give it a try. The "bulky" style (actually is no bulky at all) of the two external antennas is certainly for a reason. I couldn't be any happier. THANK YOU LINKSYS!!!!!

I was having trouble receiving and keeping a signal in airports and hotels. My laptop has a built-in mini wireless device that is not very strong unless you are very close to the source. I could receive an excellent signal if I sat in a hotel lobby, but back in my room I had nothing but trouble. Someone suggested this adapter so I gave it a try. I love it. I have had no problems connecting at hotels since I bought this adapter. I am running Vista. I can honestly say I have not had one minute of trouble. I am buying another one for my older laptop at home since I now have wireless at my home. I would recomend this adapter to anyone who needs extra signal strength.
