Editorial/Description:Product Description: Sel Gris or Grey Salt is a cooking salt from the coast of Brittany in France where it is still made using time-honored way that was carried through the centuries. In February of each year artisan salt farmers sculpt eight-chambered clay beds and flood the first chamber with water from nature preserves. During the next three months, the salt moves from chamber to chamber. In July after it has reached the eighth chamber and crystallized in its purest form, the farmers rake the salt to the edge of each bed. The salt picks up its gray color and distinctive flavor from the healthy blue-green-hued minerals in the bed's clay bottom.Great on grilled vegetables, ideal for everyday cooking. Exceptional on green leafy salads or as a topping for soups and pasta

I have been using DAS salt for over a year now and I will never go back to store bought table salt. The quality is superior and the flavor is superb. This product has changed the way I look at salt and has changed my cooking technique. Thanks DAS!

I was skeptical about buying salt for $5.99 I have been impressed. This gray salt does not have the bitter aftertaste of most table salts. It is also very forgiving if you add too much. I've been using this in cooking and have recently moved the "tub" to the kitchen table. I'm thinking of buying a salt spoon.
I like this better than a shaker since I can really see how much salt I am using. In this sense, I am able to keep my salt intake to a minimum.
