Editorial/Description:Product Description: Studio: Warner Home Video Release Date: 07/01/2008 Run time: 685 minutes Amazon.com: Deputy Chief Brenda Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick) is back in season three of TNT's crime procedural The Closer. With a couple years at the Los Angeles police department already under her belt, Brenda has proven that her eccentric method works at getting confessions from even the most hardened criminals. But even she's not quite sure how to handle the season opener, where a slaughtered family's sole survivor is the stunned, stoned teenage son. Bleak, dark and wonderfully scripted, the opener sets the tone for the 14 episodes that follow it. With an exaggerated Southern drawl that belies her hard edged attitude, Brenda is at her best in the field. But when dropped into personal situations, she often flounders. For instance, though she commands a team of officers underneath her, she still doesn't know how to tell her parents she lives with her boyfriend, FBI special agent Fritz Howard (Jon Tenney, Fools Rush In). The awkward (and sometimes poignant) moments between Johnson and her folks humanize her, giving her added dimension. Sedgwick is adept at comedy, and a couple of the episodes take advantage of her skills. Jostling with an over zealous bridezilla at a crime scene, Johnson becomes the subject of a popular Youtube video. "You've become the most downloaded fully-clothed woman on the Internet," announces her boss, Will Pope (J.K. Simmons). There is some internal drama when Brenda is ordered to make budget cuts by firing someone in her group. But the best moments occur when Brenda--calm as a cucumber--does what she does best: closes cases. Aside from a couple episodes that allude to past years, this third season (which originally aired in 2007), is easy to follow even for new viewers who haven't seen previous episodes. --Jae-Ha Kim

Gotta have more
November 18, 2008
Love the sense of humor and great character interaction. Great leading lady that is NOT perfect. Creative stories. Not always the obvious ending. Police drama without the typical plot. Every season has been a success. I bought this blindly as I do not have cable and can only catch this on DVD. It is worth it. I will definitely buy Season 4.I recommend this series for anyone looking for an addictive full of twists mystery with a great sense of humor.
Gets better and better...

Couldn't wait for S3 and was not disappointed. Action, humour, and some face-the-truth issues really make it a wholesome drama series. Wish S4 was already out.
Well written and acted

The Closer series is well written. The 'end' of each episode always has some surprises. The actors in this ensemble cast are all great and I'd hate that even one would leave the series. I've bought all seasons that are available. A well acted script is always a pleasure to watch again and again.
DVD The Closer review

I received this DVD on time. I forgot I already owned it, but that's not the dealers fault. I gave it to my sister as a gift.
The Closer DVD

One difference with other shows The Closer get better. The third season is in my opinion better than the two previous one. The only thing I have to say about the DVD collection I don't know why the company produce season 1 and 2 with french and Spanish subtitles and season 3 have not spanish subtitles. What is the reason to screw this up what is the criteria. The third season have even mandarin subtitles and no Spanish
