THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE INCLUDED WITH THE KINDLE INSTEAD OF THE MEDIOCRE COVER THAT IS INCLUDED

I JUST RECEIVED MY NEW AND IMPROVED AND WONDERFUL KINDLE COVER.... WITH THE PRICE OF THE KINDLE WHAT IT IS (AND WELL WORTH IT, I MIGHT ADD), THE CLASSY THING WOULD BE TO INCLUDE THIS LEATHER AND WELL DESIGNED COVER WITH THE ITEM, RATHER THAN THE SUB STANDARD COVER THE DEVICE COMES WITH.... MY ONLY SUGGESTION... IN THE NEXT GENERATION OF COVERS, THE CONTROLS ON THE BACK OF THE DEVICE SHOULD BE MORE ACCESSIBLE USING ANY COVER....

The truth is, I wanted the black cover. Reading the reviews, though, there was a consistent theme: the black dye was transferring to the white Kindle.
I have had my cover for several weeks, now, and there is no dye transfer problem with the brown.
There were never any problems anchoring the Kindle in the holder--I can remove it and resecure it with little effort. I think it offers exceptional protection for the Kindle, and even with it closed and latched, it is eye-catching. I can't tell you how many conversations it has started with complete strangers.
Maybe you don't think that's a good thing. But in a world where everyone is plugged into an i-pod or a cell phone, ignoring the world around them, I think it's great that a piece of technology, properly dressed, can break down some of those walls.
This case works. Amazon's doesn't.

Someone should kick Amazon for shipping the expensive Kindle with that lame-brained, completely unreliable, Kindle-damaging cover. The clip mechanism should go into a mechanical engineering museum for fantasy designs doomed to annoy users (as should the Kindle itself -- what a user interface nightmare!).
The M-edge case, on the other hand, is a brilliant execution based on sound principles of physics, such as gravity and the Strong Elastic Force. Made from quality leather, with fine workmanship, this case is the one with which Kindle _should_ be shipped. By the way, the inside pocket is perfect for holding a business card, so you can get your Kindle back should an honest person find it (as one did mine -- thanks Ray!).

A fine cover both functionally and esthetically

I bought this cover at the same time I bought my Kindle. I couldn't have been more satisfied with it. I did a lot of research before I bought the Kindle, and am glad I did. A constant complaint was about the original cover's bad design and poor quality. When I got it, I couldn't believe such a high-priced electronic device came with such a cheap cover. In my review of the Kindle, I shared a story about seeing a man put his Kindle into the cover it came with, and within seconds, saw it fall out and hit the floor. The M-edge Leather cover is made with durable leather outside and soft suede inside. It has 3 fixed leather straps and one elastic/leather strap, which holds the Kindle securely inside and a belt-like strap outside to keep it securely closed. It's well worth the price, trust me! The only thing that would make it better would be a cut-out in the back, so the on/off keys are more easily accessible. As I read in one of the reviews, now I "put it to sleep" without turning it off, between readings. The case is so versatile, I rarely take it out of this cover as it's easy to read and more secure inside. Buy one!

quite an improvement over the cover that came with the Kindle. Mounts are better made, and hold the kindle in the case. good investment
